Yunnan: Purple Twists

These curly black tea leaves from Yunnan, China develop a purple hue while on the plant due to the abundance of the flavonoid anthocyanin. Once oxidized and fired the tea unfurls into a bright and juicy cup. Its amber liquor is light and sweet, with flavors of ripe plums, muscat grapes, and cantaloupe.

Infusion: For an 8 oz serving, steep 1 heaping teaspoon of leaf in 205°F water for 4 minutes. Enjoy!
