Oolong Tea Sampler
Oolong Tea Sampler
Oolongs are arguably one of the most fun and diverse style of teas due to their wide spread of levels of oxidation. It was hard to pick just four favorites but after much consideration here we are.
1.25 ounces of Jade: Nantou - This lightly oxidized oolong has a luminescent liquor with a distinct magnolia bouquet and sweet fruit flavors of honeydew and white grapes.
1.25 ounces of Golden Buds Milk Oolong: Jin Xuan - Sourced from Taiwan, and produced from the famous Jin Xuan cultivar, this oolong is naturally sweet and rich, with flavors and scents that are reminiscent of melon and toasted nuts - most notable though, is its luxuriously creamy mouthfeel, which is where it gets its name.
1 ounce of Dark: Wuyi - This rock oolong, or yancha, has a complex character that comes from the minerality of the sheer rock cliffs and morning shade of the famous Wuyi Mountain range. This lot is uniquely floral and fruity with notes of pear, orchid, and a sweet tobacco finish.
1 ounce of Iron Goddess: Tieguanyin - Named for its cultivar, Tieguanyin is one of the most popular styles of oolong in the world, whether it comes from China or Taiwan. This Chinese version is floral and fruity, with some nutty notes that result from the meticulous roasting process.
